The East Haddam Business Association (EHBA) will present their 2nd Annual East Haddam Business Expo on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. The event is both a professional development and networking event for local business owners and a chance for the general public to learn more about nearby East Haddam, CT businesses.
Tickets for business owners start at just $15 per person and are available through the EHBA website at https://ehbact.org/expo/ or via Eventbrite. The general public can attend the vendor fair for free starting at 3 p.m.
“The East Haddam Business Expo is fast becoming a premier event at our state of the art municipal building facility. Each year, local business owners from around the state attend to hear relevant, reputable speakers who are experts in their fields, participate in business-focused workshops, visit display booths from area owners, gather information from local officials and network with other business owners,” noted Jess Stone, East Haddam Business Association President and owner of Cold Spring Farm.
The business expo runs from 11:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the East Haddam Municipal Office Complex located at 1 Plains Road in Moodus. The day is divided into three sections; attendees can choose to participate in all three sections or just those parts that most interest them.
11:30-3:00 p.m. – Business Development. The first part of the day is devoted to local business education and development. Business owners will enjoy a lunch and welcome, followed by a keynote presentation from Valerie Gordon, Founder of Commander-In-She, on the power of stories in business communications.
Afternoon educational sessions cover topics such as motivation and goal-setting, sales strategies, marketing tips, and financial planning.
3:00-6:00 p.m. Vendor Fair. The afternoon features appetizers and an open-to-the-public vendor fair and tradeshow where local businesses can connect face-to-face with potential customers, clients and colleagues.
6:00-8:00 pm. Networking. The event wraps up with networking at Moodus BBQ.
Stone explained, “This event is for anyone interested in our local business community and East Haddam business services – both business owners and the general public. Attendees range from start-up businesses to established business leaders in East Haddam, CT to local residents who want to learn more about area businesses and support their local business community and neighbors.”
Platinum sponsor and EHBA Marketing Director, Tracy Gibb of The Marketing Shop agreed, noting, “The business expo is for anyone interested in the success of East Haddam businesses. It is just one example of how the EHBA works to support East Haddam business owners. I jumped at the chance to sponsor the expo because the EHBA does so much to support the local business community and I wanted to support them in return. Sponsorship is my way of saying thank you and helping to ensure the association will be able to help other small, local businesses grow and flourish. It’s also a really fun day full of learning and camaraderie that many small business owners just don’t have in their day-to-day.”
The East Haddam Business Association was founded in 2011 to promote, support and advocate for local businesses through cooperative community outreach. Today, the EHBA is a growing resource for local business owners and entrepreneurs and includes members within East Haddam’s borders and beyond.
EHBA regular meetings take place at various local businesses on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Learn more about the Association at https://ehbact.org or https://www.facebook.com/EHBusinessAssociation/.
